At Brother's Wish, we produce family
trees using Microsoft Word, rather than using a genealogy software
package. There are several reasons for this:
| • |
The printed
versions of trees created by most genealogy software
programs are unwieldy and don't illustrate relationships
clearly. Using MS Word, a tree can be kept as simple and
informative as possible, in a traditional format that's easy
to read and fits onto sheets of A4 paper. You are presented
with a tree that looks neat, is understandable and easy to
store, both electronically and in printed form. |
| |
|
| • |
Almost
everyone has a version of MS Word so trees are easily
transferable. You can send them on to other interested
family members at the click of a button, without having to
have the "right" software. |
| |
|
| • |
Trees created
in MS Word can be colour-coded in any way to illustrate
facts about individuals, to your personal request. |
| |
|
| • |
It's easy to
take extracts from detailed trees created in MS Word and
simplify them for demonstration purposes. |
